Indigestion-

Indigestion, also known as functional dyspepsia is a common complaint. Typically one has a sense of fullness or bloating, especially following a meal, but it can also manifest as gaseousness with belching and stomach pain. The common treatment is antacids or the newer hydrochloric acid inhibitors. Interestingly, many alternative physicians believe that indigestion is not the result of too much stomach acid, but rather too little, and prescribe hydrochloric acid and pancreatic enzyme supplements. Helpful for indigestion is too eat slowly, chew thoroughly, don't overeat and limit fluids with meals. Chewable papaya tablets contain the enzyme papain which can be helpful for indigestion. Of course if you have persistant stomach pain, it may be due to an ulcer, so see your health care provider.

Other herbs- Ginger and chamomile, Peppermint, Fennel, Cardamom, Wild Yam
