This is an inflammatory scaling dermatitis of the scalp. It produces itching and white flakes in the hair. Biotin, a vitamin helps with this condition. Many people are aggravated by soap based shampoos and shampoos containing fragrances. Aloe vera shampoo and detergent based shampoos may be very helpful. An apple cider vinegar rinse can help. Psoriasis and fungal infections of the scalp can produce similar symptoms.

Tea tree Oil- try adding a few drops to a couple of tablespoons of shampoo or look for a shampoo with tea tree oil.

Chamomile- has been shown to be an effective antiinflammatory agent. Try chamomile tea as a hair tonic or rinse or use a shampoo with chamomile.
